Any info on Keyhole?  Inlaws live in Pine Haven and I spend a week on Keyhole over Christmas.  I usually get skunked but did ice a wally last year. ???

The west end is capped and I heard 4" last weekend. Going out his evening if I get my sausages done in the smoker shortly. KH is a strange lake. Fish early and late for the best chance at a walleye. Crappies as well. If you can get away from the crowds seems to me better fishing.

I'd like to hear how you do this evening Appleye.  I'm looking forward to being on KH.  I don't have much opportunity for wally's where I'm at.  We'll be chasing big rainbow's this weekend!

Key Hole......... slow! I had one bite and caught a 10" perch of all thing right off the bat. Lots of fish coming thought 7 to 10 feet off the bottom but not interested in jigs with minnow, raps, spoons and such. Ice is a little strange. About 4 to 5" of good ice with about 2  inches under the ice. Looks like the wind blew a layer on top of the other. Lots of slush on top. Open water on the east end. On the plus side the new ShowDown 5.6 rocks!

looking at some of the reports on other strings for KH, sounds like things might be picking a bit.  I hope it lasts until Christmas!  Got skunked this weekend on Brown's in MT.  My 6 year old did better than I did.  All in all a slow day with a temp of -13°.  I can stand the cold if the fish are biting...

Iced 2 waleyes yesterday at keyhole. Both were caught dead sticking minnows about a foot off the bottom. And both around 4:00 p.m. 1 was around that 2 lb mark and the other about half that. Too bad had to go back to town when the bite was starting. No waxies avalible anywhere yet, but the guy at the empire guest house expects to have some this weekend. :icefish:

Another note on keyhole. The ice in wind creek was anywhere from 12" down to 3" further out.
