Cold Sweat Lake
« on: Dec 05, 2010, 07:26 PM »
Ise De Bye and I decide to hike in to a pothole lake. As we are driving in, a moose is hanging in the field. No BC adventure is the same without some wildlife thrown in ;D

So we hike in the 1.7 kms  :woot: :woot: :roflmao: :roflmao: to this lake. Its uphill most of the way (and uphill on the way back to  :woot: :woot:)
Arrive at the lake in a sweat and decide to start fishing along the one edge. Its very shallow where I'm drilling so go a little deeper. As I'm drilling Ise De Bye spots a boat on the ice and says "You can fish here if you want to but I'm gonna hit that boat so I can fish with 2 rods"..... Off he runs all giddy about his find and wanting to beat me there ;D I get there to find him ....

He stripped down because of the run there ;D

After catching none there he decides to head a little deeper and after 2 minutes in another hole he pulls out the biggest fish of the day...

Then all was quiet for a long while and he pulls up another...Well actually it jumped out of the hole :o

I did ward off the stripe down my back with a smaller rainbow of maybe 16 inches but avoided it none the less.

All in all a good day. He lost a good one as hook bent straight. Oh well, we will be back for more snowshoe fun.

Please note this is based on a true story and mostly correct.

PS: When I grow up I want a truck like his and a snowmachine like his :P

;)  Ya that boat was frozen in,  Some unlucky bugger wont be happy in April when it most likely will be sunk from the shifting ice.  This lake had a reputation for having big bows,  we know they are there,  we just need to try a variety of lures to see what thay are feeding on.  ;)  I think I know what I would try next time.   We did not put a full day in either, as the hike in and out wiped me out.......  being fat sucks  !!!!!!       All in all, it was a good day,  a few wild rainbows caught,  the lake to ourselves......   and a spot with big potential.  I'll be back.    Thanks TGF for all your help today, and comming along   :P

Ise de by who catches the fish...and takes em home to Liza.

Man my wife is loving me being down here as I wouldn't be seen at home until next spring. Would love to be hitting up all the lakes up there with the ice
There's always a bigger fish... and I'm going to get it!

Big potential for sure judgeing by the size of the frying pan left there, someone knows there is big ones ;)2 :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

I didn't help much Ise, just hung on going over some of those cliffs. As for the hike in:  My momma always taught me the one with the longest legs must break first ;D
