Runner kit for fishtrap pro
« on: Dec 11, 2004, 11:52 AM »
Thinking about putting a runner kit on my fishtrap pro, wondering if the sled will pull any easier? I know it will help protect the sled bottom also.

I recommend getting it. I just took a break from putting the runner kit on my fish trap guide. You will need a drill with a 3/16" bit, a ruler, an adjustable wrench(or appropriate socket), and a phillips head screwdriver to install it. It also goes on easier if you haven't assembled your fish trap yet and just have the bare sled. You will get alot more life out of your sled by installing these runners, plus it will track easier when pulling. I think it is money well spent.

Try a set of used cross country ski, I installed a set on my Clam Guide. They are cheap and work great. You can get them at a used sporting goods store. About $5.

I have some used crosscountry skis, seems like there not very thick to counter sink a screw so it does not protrude past the surface of the ski. what type of screw did you use? If the screw is not flush it would pull harder.
