Ice Armor Sizing Charts Help
« on: Jan 15, 2010, 12:10 PM »
Ok,  I am a slender person. i wear 34" Jeans. What should I order for Ice Armor Bibs? I cant find a size chart for them.. I wish I could order Arctic Armor ones but I cant afford the extra 60$.

Also What size gloves should I order for Arctic Armor gloves? I cant find a size chart for those either. From fingertip to wrist i measure 7 inches.

ANy help would be great. I searched a few sites and found nothing for size charts.

Do you understand the differance between the Ice Armor and the Arctic Armor suits? Look at these videos http://idigear.com/video3.php. Now go and see if Ice Armor has any videos that are similar. I don't know you from Jack, but I really think your hide alive is worth the extra $60.

Yes I understand completely what the difference is. But I literally cant afford the extra money and its go with nothing and wear jeans all winter or buy the cheaper non floating bibs.

Seems Ice Armor runs VERY large. Small is listed at up to 37" waist.

If anyone can confirm the size is indeed good for up to 37" and will fit someone who wears 34" jeans then I will be ordering those.

So anyone here own Ice Armor bibs at all? If I can just get someone who owns one of the sizes to confirm the size chart linked is right i can order away. I just hate to order the smalls listed as up to 37" and find out its way to small for a 34" waist for some reason.

I have the Ice Armour Black/Grey suit it is XL the coat is perfect and bibs fit good with enough room to throw on 2 or 3 layers and be able to bend over.  I am 6' 2" 180 with 35" waist 36" long and they fit perfectly.

I know your just trying to help but I said I can't afford the Arctic Armor Bibs never mind the whole suit. I am buying what I can afford. It's buy the Arctic Bibs for 115$ or go with nothing all season and continue wearing jeans and getting soaked and going home with frozen jeans.

I'd say a Large for you.  I have (well before the holidays) 34" waist.  6'1".  I normally wear tall sizes, but they don't make any in a tall.  I have the original grey suit (Before the X) in an XL.  The jacket is ok, but I was swimming in the bibs.  I got the black bibs the following year in a L, & they fit way better.  The new black bibs they have this year are not the same as the ones with the suits.  Ins on unins, they lack the butt padding, & I'm not sure if they have the knee padding as well.  Clam is making all products cheaper & cheaper.  Quality is going down with the more they sell.  Snosuit (way more cash, but what a better product) is my replacement for them when the time comes unless Clam Corp gets some sense & starts making more quality of a product before then!

I've decided against buying the ice armor bib this year and have settled for a cheap 30$ snow suit bib from sports authority. It will hold me off for this winter  in place of my jeans and I will be buying the full Arctic Armor suit for Christmas instead. I figured why waste my money when i iwll replace them eventually anyways.

Thanks for the info guys. Luckily all this confusion with sizes gave me time to think the purchase through.

Ice Armor Sizing:

FWIW, I'm sort of "in-between" XL and 2XL with most Carhart gear fitting proper with an XL TALL sizing. With a 34" inseam and shirts with a 16.5" neck and 33" sleeves. Waist is a 34" (+/- LOL).

I ordered the ice armor suit in 2XL figuring the sleeves would fit nicely and I would have room to layer beneath without uncomfortably binding at the shoulders and waist. I weigh 205 lbs right now (down from 230!),

The bibs are a dead on fit with jeans and maybe an underlayer like a fleece pant or something similar. The coat fits nicely around the shoulders with a hoodie and shirt beneath and the sleeves are dead on for me. Trouble is most 2XL guys have a gut of some sort, so there is ample room to carry my vex, lantern and two breakfast burritos on my stomach LOL! Guess if I ever become pear-shaped that part will fill in.

Overall, the 2XL may be a tad too large if you wear regular XL, if you're an XL TALL and want sleeves and inseam, and a bit of belly-room for an additional layer or two withpout binding, then the 2XL works fine. I'm thinking if I went with the XL there'd be binding and tightness around the shoulders, sleeve and inseam length. I can live with a bit of room around the midsection, most of the XL stuff I purchase has more than enough material around the gut anyhow.

Can't wait for ICE!!!!

I ordered the Arctic Armor Plus bibs and jacket last winter. Im 5'8 165lbs and I opted for a large. Figured if I grow any wider ill still fit into it.  But It fits perfectly.  Was out in -25 degree temps and -50+ windchills last winter never got cold once!
The gloves arent that bad but I got mine for free with order.
