Anyone dip netting yet??
« on: Mar 24, 2010, 05:42 PM »
Was wondering if anyones been to Caroga or Indian lake lately to see if theres any ice left...I checked the conditions board but  not much action there.. I have free time at night  so if anyones interested in taking a trip when they start running ...let me know!! Also maybe some suggestions for a different place to dip..

I'm definitely interested. I'm not sure if my schedule will work out with the run but, it's worh a shot. I'm pretty sure I can score a dip net somewhere.
The angle of the dangle is directly proportionate to the heat of the beat.

Still a lot of ice on Indian yet Jake. With temps predicted to be 0 or below Saturday night some may even try to get back on it to fish. Last weekend guys were marking 16-20 inches of ice still. Shores are shot, but have known some to use a 32' extension ladder to get on the ice.... :cookoo:

32' ladder is nuts. I am over the capacity using them the correct way. I can't imagine trying that.

lol ..my dad worked at Mattens shipyard ??? Welding on the tugboats back in the day...he said they would hook 2 or 3 wooden ladders together to weld on the boat and them babys would bow like crazy!! I think it was for the Mary Taurocama ? family.. just painted the picture for me....but  I heard its almost gone at Caroga.....How about Indian ?

Shores are out about 10-12' still. Weather last few days was down in the single digits overnight. Seems we put the ice fishing gear away a little early. lake even looks like it firmed up some. Not as dark right now as last week...

Friend of mine was going to check them tonight. Shores are way out after today. I've seen them run with only 10' of shore out before.
