Ashcol Thanks for the update. I've always wanted to fish limestone. what area of the lake do most people fish? If you have any spots youd like to share I'd appreciate it. Thanks Natwild
are people are still catchin on deschambault and wondering if you are still accessing limestone and deschambault with trucks? plannin a trip and wondering if i can get away with driving up and catching fish on these lakes or if i should bring sleds to fish oskekibuk/merrit? anyone have any suggestions for schamby, willow island or ballentyne? how have the other lakes been? thank u
Zawni83 I live right on the lake at km 209, The access to willow, Paskawa and the Ballantyne are good. The road is different than past years with a few pressure ridges blocking the way, but you can still get to all spots. I was out three days ago and the roads were good and we have not had any snow since. Also sounds like the fishing at oskekibuk also has been good, not sure on the trail condition, but sounds like 45 minutes to 1 hr. The last two times out at the Ballantyne has produced alot of nice Eyes and Jacks, with very few Burbot. If you are planning a sleep over keep in touch as I have very nice spot to spend a relaxing evening with all the comforts of home. Keep in touch and I will continue to update this post
After the last snow fall it is a little tough to get around, but Gary has plowed a road to the Pasqaka river, but passed there it sounds tough going. Soon some body will bust a road over ther and then life will be good. the road over to Oskebuk for snowmobiles is good, more to come..
nice hope they are still hittin! planning a trip soon keep me posted thanks!!
Has anyone been out lately? I heard there's a decent road to the Ballantyne! Planning a trip March 7th and would welcome any ideas. How deep are the walleye biting? Thanks!
how is fishin on Deschambault been holding up? is a road been plowed or can u drive on lake? i'm thinkin not, but it is so nice when we don't have to haul sleds!! really want to get there yet! is it worth planning a trip? really wanna catch a couple walleye! how is oskekibuk and trail? any info will help, THANKS
send me a e-mail and I will give you all the info straight up
How has the road been lately? We're thinkin about going in a weeks time, but I'm wondering if we'll have too much slush/water to drive out there.
Last night( Mar 22) it was -23 and only warmed up to about -7 so no slush in site. The weather looks cool for the next week, so ice conditions should not detierate for some time. Let me know when you are come and I can give you some up to date info on ice conditions as I live right at the lake. I will be going out in the next few days ,so will have info then, Stay posted for info from the north..
