Anyone have any ice conditions for Deschambault lake?
Are we close to a road out to Willow island?

Just an update from The North, Conditions are great for fishing at Deschambault and Limestone Lakes. Been out on Desch. lake a coupe of times since Christmas and had good fishing both times. Going again tomorrow over to the Ballantnye Bay, there has been some good reports coming from there also, will update. Also my friends have been hitting Limestone with some very nice Pike and some nice Eyes also. Snow conditions are good and the lake is good for travel. Stay posted for more info. More to come from Mr.Deschambault

Ashcol Thanks for the update.  I've always wanted to fish limestone.  what area of the lake do most people fish?  If you have any spots youd like to share I'd appreciate it.

Thanks Natwild

Natwild     Some of the boys have been fishing of the first point to the right when you get on the lake with some success but most are going down closer to the far end. The fishing at Deschambault lake over at the Paskawa river and at the Ballantyne river has been excellent the last while. I have a few favourite spots that produce very well at both locations. Fishing presure is high at the Paskawa river ,but a lot less people make it over to the ballantyne river, lots of pressure ridges to cross and not as easy to get to my favorite hole as it has been in the past but worth it when you get there.

Zawni83    I live right on the lake at km 209, The access to willow, Paskawa and the Ballantyne are good. The road is different than past years with a few pressure ridges blocking the way, but you can still get to all spots. I was out three days ago and the roads were good and we have not had any snow since. Also sounds like the fishing at oskekibuk also has been good, not sure on the trail condition, but sounds like 45 minutes to 1 hr. The last two times out at the Ballantyne has produced alot of nice Eyes and Jacks, with very few Burbot. If you are planning a sleep over keep in touch as I have very nice spot to spend a relaxing evening with all the comforts of home. Keep in touch and I will continue to update this post

After the last snow fall it is a little tough  to get around, but Gary has plowed a road to the Pasqaka river, but passed there it sounds tough going. Soon some body will bust a road over ther and then life will be good. the road over to Oskebuk  for snowmobiles is good, more to come..

Has anyone been out lately?
I heard there's a decent road to the Ballantyne!
Planning a trip March 7th and would welcome any ideas. How deep are the walleye biting?

Thanks!

With the warm weather the trail over to Osekbuck and Maynard Has no snow left on it and sounds like the liguid cool machines are overheated until they get back on the lake. Some say that until more snow the trail is screwed. Fishing has been alright over at Willow Island and had some good success at Limestone Lake also. Snow is dropping with the warm weather but very little water on the ice. Weather may change by the Id's  of March,

How has the road been lately? We're thinkin about going in a weeks time, but I'm wondering if we'll have too much slush/water to drive out there.

Last night( Mar 22) it was -23 and only warmed up to about -7 so no slush in site. The weather looks cool for the next week, so ice conditions should not detierate for some time. Let me know when you are come and I can give you some up to date info on ice conditions as I live right at the lake. I will be going out in the next few days ,so will have info then, Stay posted for info from the north..
