Thank you Sandbilly.
This Tournament really meant allot to me, It was the first tournament that my dad ever entered me in 20 years ago. I was just over seven years old at the time and we ended up in 11th place. We haven't fished the lake ever since that day. If I recall correctly they had a blizzard that night before the tourney (18 inches of snow). I had a blast and Don Smith who the Tournament is now named after was so impressed with my dad for using such a young partner he gave me allot of gifts and ended up putting me in the Burwell paper. He also purchased us on the calcutta and said to us later if we won he would give us the money. It has been a goal of mine to win a tournament with my dad since I can remember. We pre fished the day before and I located this spot at the end of the day. I had no idea how good it really was, we never had to move the whole day. The plan had changed from jigging a black and orange demon jig with a waxi that day to dead sticking with very little jigging the day of the tourney. The other ticket was a small bobber and a gold hook with small minnows hooked through the lips (the bite was very lite) We were on one tree in 24ft of water. We ended up with 47 crappie, 2 or 3 small white bass, one small cat and 2 walleye that were 13 inches (not keepers). I am really glad to have been able to experience a win with my father.
