Good question me to. It seems that most people on this site are in the edmonton area and cant give us calgarain folks much help. Some people on the site recomened Crawling Valley, i havent given it a try yet, but when i do ill let you know. I have had a bit of luck at Carbon Park on the 2nd pond this year. Catch loads of 4-8" perch but nothing bigger and a couple of good jacks. What ever you do dont go to Glenmore Res though your not allowed to ice fish there apparently.

Good luck in your search, and keep me posted.

Yep, the middle one is the 2nd pond. It has a considerable amount of holes drilled in it all over but i fished at the far side near the inlet looking thing. It was maybe a little over 10 feet of water, and if u have a tent you should be able to see to the bottem no problem.

I hear Eagle lake is great but to be honest it is word of mouth. I have not yet been there. Everytime I talked to someone who has, they tell me fishing was good.

I have also heard of some monsters (pike and walleye) at Lake Newell, south of Brooks, but I have not fished there. Perch, whites and burbot there as well.

If you dont mind the drive to Bassano, we have had great success this year with the pike at Crawling Valley. North, South and West ends. 6-20 feet. They are everywhere. Yet to be skunked.

As mentioned Perch in second pond at Carburne Park.

As far as other Perch places? Cow lake. (Rocky Mountain House).

Hey Willy,
I work in Calgary and have spent some time fishing the ghost reservoir.  It's easy to access off the hwy 1A, just west of the power dam. Along the north side you can fish lakers in about 40-50ft of water, or move a little farther west and there's a plateau with whites.  .  The fishing can be slow and you may have to change spots or even rig up for different species, but it's close.

To Fishing Drum and Laynemark, thanks so much for your help I am starting to find some great areas now. I have asked the guys at Wholesale Sports and Russels before it closed, where to go around here and they were just oozing piles of information, NOT!!! they could only recommend places that required long drives, now I broke my back all up in the military a few years ago and I have trouble with long drives.
Now to ALL of the guys that have responded to my initial message you don't know how much help you all are, I cant work and so I need some activities to keep sane and I love fishingand want to keep on doing it but I have these stupid restrictions and limitations. I actually love catching perch and am trying to find a spot where I can get into some descent sizes but a spot that falls into my parameters.
Again thanks alot all and keep the suggestions comin, and good luck on your adventures.
