That's some funny stuff right there..

Maybe we can hook up on the ice this year since it didn't work out last year.. been doing well on the walleyes for the first time ever.. even right in our own backyard with the majority being between 2-4llbs- biggest was almost 5.. now if I can just get em figured out for the ice..

Anyone have any more info on that bus trip up to LOTW?? That would be interesting..

Do they make any other stops in Iowa on their way north? I could certainly drive to Atlantic, but that is a 2 hour trip.

My uncle said they were planning a stop last year. Not sure if they did? The organizers called him and asked what the exit would be. They were going to pick up some more people at a certain exit. Here is the radio stations web site. http://www.965ksom.com/index.php

The last two years we have picked up people along the way.  They met at a truck stop in Des Moines and Boondocks.  I'm sure if you talk to Gary at Ballards Resort he can line up stops where needed.  You do have to sign up with 4 in a group to get the advertised rate.  If you can't get 4 I think they will give you contacts for others looking for another person to make a group.  Hope it works out and you get to go this year!  If you have other questions let me know.

hey pheasant...stick to those farm ponds down around brayton and you'll never want a package trip to LOW  who knows what sleeper house you'll get.  grew up in audubon and still have permission for a lot of GREAT panfish ponds down there...got an honest 4 lb crappie on the wall from christmas day in 1989.

transplant from the city in Iowa (Dubuque) to a farm in NYS as a kid - go figure - anyways 64 years later try to do something I didn't do for 63 years.  Buy an Ice Fishing Shelter and enjoy protection from the elements - I sat on a bucket or stood all that time when ice fishing - Remember the definition of ice fishing is a hole in the middle with a jerk on one side waiting for a jerk from the other side. Back to seriousness - added a small Buddy heater which i caught on half price sale last year - lite for a couple minutes in a good shelter and it makes time spent on the ice quite bearable. Enjoy the experience as I have but use respect - for safety.

I have permission for 2 differnt ponds in that area. One of them actually has perch in it. Not very many but a few.

If there were a few perch, there should be many soon enough. They are
 prolific reproducers.
