Ice fishing is like an addictive drug. Once your hooked  you can't live with out it and you will make up excuses to go fishing.  There are so many addicting factors about ice fishing, I could go on forever writing them down. If I had to be addicted to something other than love, ice fishing, hunting and doing stuff out doors  including doing stuff with the family is it.  :) ;D :icefish:

I collected all this stuff for icefishing and alot was bought on sale....no sense in letting it just sit.
Its keeps me in shape for summer lawn duties.
I go because I enjoy it.
NEVER lied about the size of the fish I caught.....just remember them being BIGGER!!

If you want to go to the beach during the spring/summer/fall and surf fish, ya' gotta let me go out, or go with me, during the winter and let me fish.

Luckily fishingirlpa enjoys fishing as much as I do...never really need an excuse. Best part is, she can tell when I need to go and will tell me to go ahead and go if she doesn't want to. She knows I ain't in a bar and I'll be comin' home to her  :)

I like to fish, and the best thing about ice fishing is that there are no jet ski's, no water skiers, no dumb kids blasting past you joyriding with their parent's boat etc.

I'm not anti-social, I just hate people that aren't fisherman.
and since Jesus was a fisherman, we be mates.

Give a man a fish he eats for a day, but teach a man to fish and he eats for the rest of his life.
Build a man a fire and he will be warm for a day, but set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Later,

Wiener

There is just something really cool about not being able to see what you have on your line until you look into the hole.

I used to have to explain why I go icefishing. I got a divorce. No joke. Don't get me wrong. I'm not proud of it. But when my new girl asks why I love to fish so much I respond, " I don't ask why you go to a mall to have your feet rubbed and sanded down by a dude that weighs 105 soaking wet." " Don't ask why I feel the need to cut holes in a frozen sheet of ice."

You the MAN, Perchslayer. I'll try that one on my wife ;D Thanks for the input.--KingPerch
Guys don't try that at home. Big "D". I'm 31. If this ice holds up much longer, I'll have to go on the prowl again after ice out. And I'll be out of "sick" time at work.

Frozen lakes you can have days when the fish will bite all day like a school of piranha...something I've never experienced on the soft water.
I like being able to sit in one spot and fish without having to work a trolling motor all day.  Getting to stay right on the lip of that drop off is one of the reasons I can catch more fish in the winter.

we fish the hard water because fishing is like a drug its addicting and once ya start ya cant get enough so we dont let frozen water stop us. and besides if we didnt fish the hardwater peta would be happy for a few months and i really dont think that us sportsman aka People Eating Tasty Animals could let that happen.

can have 5 tipups and 2 jig poles on hard water!! wow   try holding 7 fishing poles while fishing in the summer, it's illegal for one, and it would be very difficult to cast 7 different lines from a boat or shore into different area's of a body of water.

don't get me wrong love fishing anytime openwater and ice fishing, but have more fun ice fishing!!!
