What kind of trap does every1 recommend for pike ?

Right now im using some cheap walmart traps for perch and stuff. I'm looking for some bigger traps for pike..Hows them jack traps any1 try them? I seen someone using a heavy duty woodin trap that stands up and the line and spool dont go in the water. they catch alot of pike. Any one no the name of this trap or is it homemade or something?

you can never go wrong with jack traps, you can order them online through the website or alot of bait dealers sell them, The quality and workman-ship on them is second to none and you can order them already with line.  and i have yet to have a single wind flag in all the time i have put on the ice which is unheard of with any other traps

Polar's are all you will ever need, made by H.T. Enterprises.  Guaranteed against freeze up in extreme temps and sell for around $12 each, which is around half as much as the Jack traps.  We've used the Polars for years and have caught a lot of pike on them in all kinds of cold weather all the way down to close to -40 F and they are still working fine.  Very popular tip up here in Sask. for big pike.

jack traps all the way, there is no better built tip up in my opinion, if i had to go with something else beaver dams would probably be it.

Love my Jacks craftsmanship is 2ND to none almost overkill. Heritage Lakers are a great trap to use as well.
