Thin Ice Warning Sprit Lake
« on: Feb 07, 2009, 04:51 PM »
Found a spot today in 20' of water with 4" or less of ice. A spring or something on the lake bottom is releasing air bubbles and causing this. I have Coords if anyones thinking of heading in the Templar area.

South of the point your talking about. Was real slow after the wind switched today down in that area. I'll go get the GPS and post the Coords.

Roughly East of a line from  the first house on the north end of Templar Lagoon. Out at the 20' break.

Oh Man!   :o  If my truck had not munched a wheel bearing today, I would have run my 4 wheeler right over that.  I was probably 10 minutes from a much worse day.

Thanks Esox, for the heads up.

Thanks for the coords  esox-   We never had to go down that far yesterday.  We were kinda by ourselves out in the middle in between the long line along the north shore and the long line that pretty much ran E/ESE from Buffalo run.  We were on them on and off for the most part, between three of us we caught over 125 fish, c&r all of them, but had maybe a one man limit for the day if we would have kept 9" fatties and up.
