I Am Thinking

Sorry for the off topic. But this year has been great for us ice anglers. I have been looking at the weather closely. I think we will be out on the ice the rest of February and maybe some of March. I cant remember fishing past the middle of February. I have only been ice fishing for a couple years. This season rocks. :tipup:

I agree 100%! Last year I barely fished southern CT at all. I love the snow and cold!!!! This year I can actually ice fish the same bodies of water I fish the rest of the year. I'm hoping this will be a winter we talk about for a long time  ;D

last year we had crapty ice and it went quick, this year the we have alot more black ice so it should last a bit longer

today and last night helped freeze up that slushy top layer. I wonder what 45 is going to do this weekend.

not much its still 20 at night it will just melt some snow and refreeze when the temps drop

It's looking good and I'm looking forward to hitting the ice Sunday. I got my ice fishing gear together earlier, loaded it on my cheap plastic sled and dragged it around the backyard a bit (The neighbors already think I'm strange) it'll work.

I fish EVERY year into march, and will do so again this year.  Is anyone interested in a early spring outing if I put one together?

Once this snow is melted (if it ever does) we should start building ice again, and if we do, we'll have ice for quite some time.  Late ice is my favorite because the action ALWAYS gets better late season, and I have a couple key spots that I save for after all the STUPID trout lakes close.

If the weather doesn't get weird, there will probably be safe ice to find in the NW hills until mid-March or later.

About 4 years ago we organized an outing this size on Highland for March 18'th or 20'th, and had over a foot of ice if i remember.

Count me in E!

watched channel 3 news and they had the ct river ice breakers on there and they said that this year is the most ice they seen ever and it was 4.4 inches higher than there highest year
