So I bought a brand spankin new quad two weekends ago

dealership brought it to my house showed me all the cool buttons I can see myself breaking. they gave me the ORV sticker. Ok left the quad in the garage with the heater running all night went out the next morning in my shorts and slippers and was not cold. Tried to apply the sticker and I guess with the budget cuts the DNR is taking they are skimping out on the glue of the backside of my ORV sticker. Anyone else have this problem. I called them and explain that I am trying to place it where they want but it won't stick, I asked if I could make a plate that I would fasten to the quad.... Nope!! Is the asnwer I got and they said it would stick. Can't use a plate cause I could but it on a different vehicle and only buy one sticker.

It's the DNR's fault that the sticker didn't stick? I understand why they don't let you put it on a plate or something you can switch to different vehicles. Same thing on a boat, you can't put your boat MC numbers on a plate either. Same with State Park car stickers. Same with most parking stickers. Better find a way to make it stick. Try glueing it on.

It ain't the DNR its the machines where you buy the stickers from which aren't controlled by the DNR. Some a lot better than others.

You only need to take a hair dryer to the back fender for 20 or 30 seconds and stick it on and you're in business. Pretty quick and easy and does work. Hair dryer will heat it up more than enough.........after heating the fender heat the back of the sticker for a few seconds.

another thing to consider, since it was a brand new quad, is CLEAN the area very well where you are going to put the sticker. Learned this on a boat once, those MC stickers don't like a fresh coat of wax very well!

Allot of times they spray them down with a silicone spray to make them nice and shiny for the showroom. I suggest ya wipe the area with rubbing alcohol. Should stick good then. Good luck.

Clean the area with Denatured Alcohol or something.

BTW, I hate the DNR just cause they are the DNR. They should be disband as the most useless bunch of A-holes in the world.

same thing mine did i went to office max and got a piece of sticky laminate and used that 4 years ago when the used the wrong ink in there printers and the rubbed off the licence and could not read them well with the chip in my axx they put in me i got stopped and he tried to ticket me for having an unreadable licence well fought that with him for 20 min and won i would have went to court if he gave me a ticket because it was on their website then got stopped 2 weeks later checking a deer stand no bow or gun and in shorts but did not have my license with me they where in my back pack in the truck he tried to give me a ticket for hunting with out a licence in position

CALL THE DNR BACK AND ASK THEM TO "STICK IT"

ONCE YA' DO GET IT ON YA' MAY WANT TO CONSIDER PUTTING SOME CLEAR FILM OVER IT SO THE CARWASH DOSEN'T BLOW IT OFF LIKE MINE, I GOT A LARGE SHEET FROM A BUDDY, I NEED TO FIND OUT WHERE HE GOT IT. THAT STUFF STICKS REAL GOOD AND CARWASH CAN'T HURT IT.

i applied my sticker on the lake when it was snowing. didn't have a problem.

they actually are printing machines supplied by the DNR to dealers. i worked at cabelas and it was a pain to try to get someone to come out a fix a machine when it went down. takes forever to get the ink and stickers too.

I've done the cleaning with windex, spray foam window cleaner, carb cleaner, rubbing alcohol let dray for about a day. No such luck. Took a green lp tank with heater no such luck. I'm done. I wish I would have gotten a freakin law degree vs spending extra money fixing the DNR's freakin bright Idea's. Seems to reseamble entrapment!!!

Junk sticker's that don't stick and then you get the ticket cause the dern thing fell off or wouldn't stick. What a way to generate revenue for the 10 Mil they lost last fall. STICKER'S for hunting and fishing lisence's. :cookoo:For the amount of money we spend on this stuff I'd want something that lasted more than 5 mins.

You can by blue that comes in an aerosol can, Used it to aply my sticker after it blew off with the powerwaher. got the glue at the powersports store

It gets old after a while. "I hate Cops, I got a ticket", "I hate the DNR, they're stupid", "They are all worthless"....blah blah blah. Yes, they make mistakes. There are alot of things I think they could do better. But, if there was no DNR, there would be no fish planting, no one to keep the hill-billy poachers from raping the resources, no accountability for daily bag limits, no state parks, alot less public land.....and a few things that some people seem to enjoy.

The sticker is for a purpose, and the fee for the sticker goes towards the trails alot of people enjoy. Quit making such a big deal over the sticker, tape it on or glue it on, and go fishing.

Disagree with a lot of what the DNR is doing, yet can't see much of it as their fault. Politicians and asst. bureaucrats set many of the policies and rules with the most important part being in control of the $$$$$$. Have talked with many DNR employees over the years and they are extremely frustrated/disagree with much of what goes on but their hands are tied in most instances. Govts tend to take the lowest bid on equipment, you end up with what you pay for. Would be scary to scrap it, bureaucrats in charge of making a new one in their own image.....NO THANKS, we're doing better than one thinks

I wonder if other states have the general disappointment with DNR as we do. It never seems like the deer herd is right, the cwd thing, baiting, smelt limits, 3 lines next year but spearing rules start in december. They are always changing the laws I'm afraid that I will do some thing wrong by mistake and get a ticket. Was it like this 20 years ago

The DNR or Sportsman? Could get ugly very fast, nearly every aspect has changed, very easy to point fingers at those that disagree with a specific point of view. Don't think we want to go there and divide ourselves in to hostile groups. Haters of what we all enjoy would relish it and use it against all of us.

as far as the DNR goes it's kinda the same way cause on one side I don't care for most of the stuff they do but at the same time I still have TONS OF FUN Fishing and Hunting each year so what ever they are doing I'm fine with it as long as it keeps the sports I love a "fun experience" and so far so good

Hey Marine, get yourself one of those small brown bottles of contact cement with the brush inside. A little on the sticker and a little on the bike. Permanent. I do it to two bikes each year.

I have never had a problem with my O.R.V. sticker not sticking or coming off at the power wash. As for the DNR I have never had a problem with them. I have never been asked for my fishing license and I am 29 years old. I must be lucky. Never had a run in with them. I always follow the laws and I am sure after posting this my next trip on the ice I will have a CO knocking on the shanty door. Good luck Tight Lines
