Gulp ALive- which one?
« on: Dec 16, 2009, 09:08 AM »
Regularly use the maggots/waxies.  I was looking at some of the other stuff.  I can get 1" minnows, 1" minnow fry, or 1" minnow heads.  Any real advantage to one over another?

I have the Gulp Alive in white waxies and 1" Watermelon Pearl colored minnows, as well as the regular Gulp waxies in pink, natural and white.....I don't use live bait...don't need to...the Watermelon Pearl color is my go to color through the ice and open water...walleyes, smallies, largies, perch, rock bass, and even pickerel

I caught some nice big blue gills the other day on the Gulp alive waxies in chartreuse.

I also had a line out with the minnow heads. I had the camera on this line. A bass came up to it and mouthed it. It spit it back out and then shook its head like it was trying to get the taste out of its mouth. It was quite funny to see.

Can't see myself using any of the other stuff, when power bait works just fine for me.  I do use the Alive minnows and they sometimes produce instead of power bait.

I caught 3, 16-18 inch cutties on chartreuse minnow heads. And had numerous bites (none landed  :'( ) with the pink fish fry. I am a believer!
Thanks!

I say its a hobby, my wife says its a sickness!

Use the minnow heads with pretty good success. Don't seem to matter what color. Does anyone else have a problem with the jars leaking?
