Bait shop in Crawford Creek area
« on: Dec 23, 2008, 10:30 AM »
Does anyone know of a bait shop, for at least waxworms in the Crawford Creek area? If there is one in Battle Creek I would like to know.  My bait shop closed in Cherokee.

Crawford creek is a nice spot.  Not all that big but has nice crappie and bluegill.  You have to fight with the small ones, but once you find the bigger fish you can do well.  I have not been down this year; I am planning on going this weekend.  Boat ramp there.  When the ice is thick, you can drive the ramp right out into the lake.  Short walk from the parking lot to the ice.  It is in the middle of nowhere, and never seems busy to me.  Definitely worth the look.

You can check the size out on the Iowa DNR web site.
