My homemade rods and spring bobbers
« on: Dec 24, 2008, 09:50 AM »
Here are pics of rods and spring bobbers that I had previously posted last year.

The rods are used like the Marmish style rods except that you can reel the fish in.
The spring bobbers are made of light guage piano wire from the hardware store and can be of any weight and length which allows for adjusting the sensitivity.
Also the loop does not freeze up and  is big enough to thread small jigs thru it.

Has the rain a father?
Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
From whose womb comes the ice?
And the frost from heaven, who gives it birth?
By the breath of God ice is given and the broad waters are frozen.
The waters harden like stone and the surface of the deep is frozen.

Nice, I espescially like the hook storage idea in the rod butt. I've got a few homemade rods and I just used a thin broomstick cut to about 8" long drilled out for a broken open water rod tip(set in with Gorilla glue) and a spring bobber on the end. I also use the slater reels taped to them. They serve their purpose for shallow water fishing and it's an extra rig with a different bait/lure.
