A Flasher at work........
« on: Dec 10, 2008, 07:07 PM »
Here's a real good video of a flasher at work for anyone out there considering buying one. I own a Marcum & still enjoyed watching it. However, I could see the difference between the 2 on the video; which I had also seen 1st hand before I bought mine.....couldn't beat the price though & my Marcum still does the trick. Can't wait to upgrade to a Vex & then my son can use my Marcum.

I went the other way and sold both my Vex's for a Marcum and not going back. I fished with a guy and his FL-12 last year, I could pick up fish his wouldn't he now owns a Marcum to. I think your taking the wrong step going to a 12, its nothing more than a FL-8 with a flat screen. Good for your son though, he'll get more fish

Wouldn't get the 12.....would get the 20. Vex's seem to pick up fish tight to bottom MUCH better than the Marcums when set up properly. Vex's show more detail on those fish while you get a flicker with the Marcums(a fact even stated in the Marcum manual).

With less than 1" target seperation I can pick up fish none of my old Vexs would. Even the 20 misses fish I mark.  I'm working on converting him to the dark side soon as the ice gets thick enough on my walleye spots.
