adding scanned lake map to gps

Has anyone scanned a lake chart  to add it to an explorist 500le gps?  any help would be great   there are no lake chips for the lakes in maine I can find :(

????? ??? :-\ sorry I never get to any lakes big enough where I'd benefit from a GPS.  Maybetry the manufacturer website for chips or scanner-GPS interface software.
