« on: Nov 13, 2008, 02:09 PM »
Hey all,

Ive seen a product, a sort of spray that you can use on fishtraps to make them waterproof... What is it called?

Is Campdry any good on them?

i have heard if the fabric cant breath a bit the inside will drip like crazy ...are you having problems from condensation or from rain?  i like to get the inside toasty so the walls get kinda wet from condensation.
whats it doing or not doing that makes you want to waterproof it?
Lack of planning on your part in NO way constitutes an EMERGENCY on mine

I bought campdry for my FishTrap, but was worried about breathability so I haven't applied it yet.

This is directly from the Kiwi website-->  "KIWI Camp Dry heavy duty water repellent spray provides long-lasting protection while allowing leathers, canvas, and nylon to breathe. The spray contains a high level of silicone for optimum protection and is odorless when dry"

Directions
Article should be clean and dry. Spot test light-colored leather and canvas for color change as silicones may impart a slightly darker, richer tone.

Use in a well-ventilated area away from heat and flame.
Hold can upright 7 to 10" away. Spray entire surface area evenly with a light coat. For maximum protection, apply a second application after 4 hours.
To thoroughly cure, allow article to dry in a well-ventilated area for 24 - 48 hours. When thoroughly cured, article will be odorless.

I think Scotch Guard is better. I applied campdry to my boots the other day and they still smell of that diesel fule/toxic smell >:(
