Current Ice Conditions
« on: Mar 05, 2008, 08:24 PM »
Just wondering what the current ice conditions on lakes and ponds is.  I had a good 7 inches Saturday on the pond before the warm up and rain.  Current reports would be appreciated.
I used to get excited about a 20 inch bass until I caught my first 40 inch dolphin.

We are in the middle of the upper peninsula of MI, and on the local lakes are at least 25-30 inches.

I was out last night just across the border in Michigan.  I didn't measure but I would guesstimate 13 - 14 inches.
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
          Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
       I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
           And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
              BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

Hard to believe the difference 100 miles  makes in the ice. No ice at Summit or not safe. Then go north 100 miles and you have a foot. :-\
