I was there on Saturday (Feb 10th) for the first time. We caught bluegill, perch, and bass all afternoon/early evening on the marina side of the lake. Although we had to sort the bluegill we'd have kept a good number of them had we wanted to clean 'em.

We got out there at 1pm and left at about 5:45. Fishing was relatively slow between 1 and 3:30. Had a great bite between 3:30-4:45. The fish all but shut off at 4:45. Caught a few more right around the time we left so the evening may have been productive had we stuck around.

Hope that helps.

It's Semi private. You can get some rentals but the fees are high.
In 2004 I was there with a former neighbor whose relatives lived in Eagle ridge.
I caught a 40" 20lb + Tiger Muskie.
The picture is in the marina / baitshop. ;D

It sure was. 3 of us on a pontoon. The other guys fishing for Crappie & Bass. I am throwing Musky gear until I get tired of it. 10 minutes after I switched to the Crappie gear I think I have a snag. Wrong. The snag starts swimming away.
God must have wanted me to catch this fish. I can't figure any other reason.
Medium Ugly sick  8# test mono, no leader and the lure is a gold blade Beetle Spin type lure with a 16th Oz. jig head and cream colored tail.

The fish never jumped or rolled. It would just make power runs away from the pontoon.
At one point we had to chase him because he was gonna "Spool" me.

When he got tired and sufaced it looked like a submarine and we all let out a whoop.
There was only a regular net on board but one of my fishing mate made an excellent scoop and brought him aboard with one swipe.
He fell onto the deck and the jig fell right out. I had stuck him right in the point of the nose.
the jig was severly bent. I don't think if he made another run that we would have even gotten a look at him.

A couple of pics and a measurement and back into the lake he went. The lake keep limit is 44 inches.
I wouldn't have kept it any way.  I did get my picture in the local Galena times with an accompanying letter that I wrote.

I also applied for and recieved an Illinoiz C & R award and pin. I have caught another 40 " Standard Musky in Hayward Wi. Now that I am retired I will work on trying to improve that record. 8)
