Brookies & Moosehead Day 1 Report
« on: Mar 15, 2008, 04:37 PM »
Up here at Moosehead on the southern end. We fished around Moose Island. Did fairly well, 9 fish total, 8 touge and 1 short 14.5 inch salmon. Couple of touge over 18 inches that were fat and healthy. Noticed that almost all of the touge had those funky little two legged looking parasites attached to them everywhere. Lost about 6 fish between the three of us. Bite was good in the morning and really slow the rest of the day. Few hits on the jig pole but nothing caught, and lots and lots of stolen bait.

On another note, is it a bit late to be trying to catch brookies? Any suggestions as to where we might try or tactics. Couldn't get anything in the shallows today with smelts.
