Icefishing - fly fishing
« on: Feb 20, 2008, 09:54 AM »
We took a break from the ice with the weather peaking over 40 and went fly fishing down on the Saco River out in Hiram. WHY do I always seem to be in the middle of breathtaking scenery, fishing and not have a camera?

Now I have the itch... maybe while sebago is hot, I could drill a hole, stand back a few yards, and try to land a cast in the hole.
I caught you a delicious bass, wanna play me?

If that doesn't work out, you could try jigging a bead head with your fly rod.  Good luck and make sure you get a photo!   ;D

Nah, we didn't catch anything... but next time I need to AT LEAST bring my phone so I can snap a couple of pix. I think I had a good hit, but lost my fly at the tippet knot.

did you come in from river rd side or 113 side. the fishin is better on the 113 side but the walk sucks! i lost the biggest brown ive ever had on a fly rod over there below the turbines. i had him! he was worn out but i didnt have my damn net. by "buddy" tried to land him but grabbed the line. one head shake and gone. i couldnt get mad all i could do was sit on a rock and stare at the water hahha. this year walter is mine!!!
