fire up gril and wait for it to get good and hot wrap skinless fillets in foil with some butter and onions. Toss foild righ on grill. next throw on a couple burger and dogs. When burgers are done the fish will be too. Toast up some buns eat the burgers and dogs then throw the fish away. As you can tell not a big laker fan

I won't eat a laker that lives south of 60 either!!
Our northern trout taste as good as any freshwater fish out there.

These lakers are the best you can get in the state. As I previuosly stated they are 17-22" range, and not the big 30+ inch grease bombs. They are from Higgins Lake MI.( a deep cold lake), caught in 120 F.O.W. Their primary diet consists of smelt and perch. I am not a big fan of "fishy" tasting trout either; thus my requesting a decent recipe. Thanks to all who took the time with sincere replies to this post.

I freeze them and wait for summer.  I have a grill style brinkman smoker that I fire up and throw put the thawed trout on and smoke it.  Then we just throw it on the picnic table and pick away at it.  Delicious.
