Sorry to say it Captain and Unoman but I`m not gonna be able to make it gotta work sat Morn./may as well go for the afternoon bite local.Plus i am doing the Winni Derby next weekend so i better work this one.Hope to hook up with some of you Mass guys this year.Maybe Flint Pond/went there last year and want to try it again.

Will do Karl/Buddy of mine took 4th last year just not close enough.And i just posted a 21 inch 5.7lb Large Mouth last SUNDAY for the Shanty Tourney and forgot to put the tourney card on the ice.Disqualified what a bummer.Just have to try again.ENJOY EVERONE AND BE SAFE. NEXT TIME.

I was on another site today and the talk there was about coming to the Cove and fishing with us IS members. I think it's gonna be a huge gathering, Next time I say we collect money and donate it to a fishing charity or a kids outdoor club, so we can have a hand in teaching, and helping support the outdoors for the next generation of fisherman and women. That's just a thought, What do you think?

Well, I gotta bag on bartons guys but I just adopted a 19 month old black lab wed and he's not ready to head out with me just yet!
Hopefully bare hill wont be a problem but I wanna make sure he's used to me and obeys before we venture to far!

Sorry fellas, I'm not going to be able to make it tomorrow.

My wife is prego and feeling in the dumps, so I'm taking one for the team and staying home. I wish I could have figured this out before I made 5lbs of mac salad last night! Oh well! Hope to see you guys at Joe B's derby on Flint in a couple of weeks. Good luck to everyone tomorrow, it sounds like it is going to be a blast. Please post pics so I can feel even worse about not attending!

I don't think we will have to worry about that to much. I think Pikeking was talking about the Mass Angler group and so far only a few of them have said they will be comming. The parking will be tight however because the power company didn't plow the secondary lot. We need to try and park nice and tight.

Sorry we won't be seeing you Poppa and Bumps but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Maybe next time.

Looks like the weather is indeed cooperating with a high of forty and the sun coming out around noon.

I've decided to go after reading all your posts for three yr's.Capt Shay I will introduce myself as the fellow irish ice lad. 1 question is how close on the left side of the cove going out towards the river can you get?

Berkshire Beer and John Harvards growlers are in the truck as we speak - with some 16oz cups

See you in the am. Jigging workshop starts at 8am and the beer and brats class starts around 10:30

Glad to hear it OD. I'll be wearing a blue base ball cap with a gold M (Michigan State) If I'm reading your question correctly, well past the "eagle" island. In other words, if you are not familliar with the area, Pretty dang far.

Questionable, but I would think your dog should be fine, temps should be above freezing but the ice will probably be wet.

Really easy to find actually:

Directly off of Rt. 2 No exit or Road. From the center of the French King Bridge (don't worry, you'll know it when you cross it) it is almost exactly two miles by the odometer heading slightly down hill. The entrance is marked with a rather small wooden sign (on your left) and there is a small white car dealership/garage on your right. You may very well drive by it but again, don't worry, you will see the cove off to your left from Rt.2, and know that you went to far. Just turn around and look for the wooden sign on a wooden post next to a drive way looking entrance. Trust me, it is really pretty self evident. It's the country don't 'ya know. From the West, it is about one quarter mile from the state boat ramp. Look for the wooden sign. Really it is self evident, part of the reason why I chose this location.

Bartons Cove today, between the three of us, 3 flags no fish, but "BaitMan" on the left had the marinated pork chops going on (em em good) and the sausage and red sweet peppers made the day, myself "Crazycrawler" in the middle got totally skunked, not a flag, "PlayHard" on the right had the only real good running flag all day but no fish, maybe next time, great to meet some of the other Shanty guys, killer seafood chowda "Unoman", Good Times.
