Has anyone tried this before? Any good advice? How is the bite?

Typically they don't feed at night , that don't mean they cant be caught at night though .

Never tried it but if I did, I'd use dead stinky bait, Pike can't see all to well at night.

I've had luck by putting two lanterns outside the shanty on the ice.  Lights up just enough for the pike to see the perch.

pike are opportunistic feeders, meaning they are lazy. They will suck down a dead bait if it is right in front of them. I think if you are in the right spot you should still gave good luck. I know pike are less active at night because their vision is lowered but a nice smelly dead sitting real close to the bottom would work wanders.

I will leave my tipups out at night and usually have flags in the morning.  My largest pike was caught at night.

I've done well at night on lakes that get heavy pressure during the day.  Especially between 7-10 p.m. and 4-6 a.m.
