Ice Shanty House out of a Semi Trailer?
« on: Feb 02, 2008, 09:48 PM »
Well I have a old semi trailer that a friend gave me (axels are shot) From floor to ceiling is 13.4 feet. So i could chop that in 2 (6.7 feet) and double up the aluminum. The trailer is also somthing like 8.33 feet wide.

I was thinking about using the front 6 feet and taking off the back tail-lights and other stuff...

So the shack would be 8.33 feet long by ??? feet wide. I also gotta cut a sturgeon hole.

Wanna have duel bunks with sturgeon/ice fishing holes in the middle..

Dont know how thick the aluminum.

I hope someone here tryed this.. I also heard of people using trailer houses..

Thoughts, comments, concerns?

FYI, Nice Board...

first off I would try to get a weight on the section you use, then how would you get it on and off ice, skids leave it on wheels? then would you insulate it? and bunks and a heat source, maybe some windows? this all will add to the weight.
go to taxidermy, mount it on the wall
