Willow Creek
« on: Jan 04, 2008, 08:45 PM »
Anyone been out on Willow Creek lately, hows the ice, having any luck.  Thinking about heading up there one of these weekends.  Is there anyone up that way that sells minnows this time of the year.

There is a bait shop in town but I usually get my minnows at Hader at the first gas station on the left from pierce(about 8 miles). As always the fish are nice but not going to set your lines on fire! Flasher required and moving till you find fish. The crappie are very tight lipped if you dont catch them when they want to feed. Ive only been out to willow once this year so far Im going this morning. :)

Not very good> The fish where real selective. We managed 3 gills 3 crappies and one small walleye. The bite was very light. Minnows caught the crappies the gills hit waxies. Hook and bobber had all the action on the crappies. We where on fish the whole time about 5-10ft off the bottom on structure.

Are you talking bout the rocks along the dam?   Or the ones on the south side by the north boat ramp?   Heading there this Friday.   Do you know if the little bait shop in pierce has minnows and waxies?

Thanks

LittleD

Wish I would have looked at the site this morning.  Got skunked at willow today. >:(  Started by the north dock and worked most of the way to the spillway in 10- 16 ft water.  Had camera, only saw one fish.   Packed up about 2 pm.  up by the beach and west boatdock probably 5 or 10 shacks setting up.  Oh well better luck next time I guess.

Good Fishing to All
