A couple of weekend shots...
« on: Dec 23, 2007, 04:42 PM »
No report, just an update

Got out a few times over the last few days with Len(Getnjiggywithit) and Eric (Thefishstick) for some walleyes and crappies. It was nice to see so many IceShanty'ers out on the ice! Fished hard and was rewarded. Would have been on the ice right now the rain would have stopped!!!  >:(

Go Team Ontario!

Crappie Bay Day

Len and I were stationed over a finicky school of crappies and bluegill meanwhile Bucket, Rich and Ransome slaying the largies and gills in the backround a bit shallower.

Average eaters

Jackel and Getnjiggywithit sharing secrets

Eric with a pike!

Eric in search of active walleye

Walleye, victims of the Buckshot spoon

Talk about walking on water!

Nice pics bud ;D ya  should have come by this morning the fish were there but finicky... ya had to work for them as usual.  I stayed till 2pm and managed a dozen keepers and countless little ones with a bonus 10" largie  ;D The rain kept everyone home only Matt aid and a few of his buddy's came out.
Now the Xmas shopping ???

We got down there a little later Len only to find a lonely Clam2000 set-up amongst the puddles that were forming everywhere...No fishing, just went to check how you were doing. Did you have the quad out today??

Let me know when your in town next and we will have to get back out on top of those walleye..

Thanks Len :)

Yeah I'll probably be out there tomorrow, hit WB first thing in the AM and probably fish all day depending on how things go.

I ended up selling the Yukon to Cory (1lastcast) the sameday I picked up the X2  :)  So far Ive been very happy with the new purchase ;D  How is the pro treating ya?  Are you feeling claustrophobic?  Ive been considering trading my guide for a pro just to lighten up the load a bit when I'm on foot.

I did end up going over and talking to him and he didn't want to give me what I wanted for my trade-in...   I may just keep the bike and buy a set of tracks for it :)

http://www.atvtracks.net/atv%20track%20prices.htm  I'm leaning towards the giant set-up mainly because of price... these things can get alittle pricey  They are originally  an AD boivin design!

Welcome

Ice is fine...Depending on what bay and where you plan on fishing , I see no problem with you getting the bike out. I was told a car went into the drink today on WB too...wouldn't mind getting some more info on that  ???

Got your PM Len...Cool set-up huh  :) :D

Welcome to IS Cory  :)
I was thinking about getting a cheap sled but then insurance, maintenance, storage  etc. to think about also ;)  If you are comming to Ottawa Friday just give me a ring before  you leave and I'll meet up with ya and show ya a few spots :) I was fine last week and things firmmed up since then ;)  I also herd that some crazy bugger was on the ice with an ATV off Thompson's :o

Tip-up
Thanks for the links some very cool mods 8)  I'll be on the ice Friday morning if I don't kill myself on the ski hill tonight  :P
Cheers

Yeah some idiot tried to get their car on this ice yesterday at WB. He got stuck in the snow trying to get on. Finally got it out, got onto the ice, parked it right next to shore (What was the point of that? Why not just park on the road with everyone else?) When he went to leave he put her through the ice right by the shore. Had to get it towed out by a good samaritan in a truck and then of course when he finally got back onto show he got stuck in the snow again and had to be pulled out. Some people just don't think...

Len,

Not sure yet If im going to make the trip up to Ottawa as the weather is looking bad at the moment. If I do make the trip I'll give you a ring. I may end up walking out in the bay tomorrow as I hear there is 6 - 8 inches in front of the old church.

I love the pro and wouldn't trade it for anything, lots of room for 1 guy. I share a Clam 2000 with a friend but I find it too small so we are looking to get into a 5600. But when I am solo you can't beat the Pro!
I love my Clam, Vex, Mr. Buddy...
