BIG LAKE BURBOT

Well I finally made it to Big Lake last night, I got there about 4pm and fished till 10:30pm.....It was very cold (-14) but there was no wind blowing which was pretty nice, I got my first Burbot (32+inches)at about 5pm/lost another one at about 5:30, then caught a bunch of 8-12inch trout/salmon till about 10.  I went to check out finger lake on my way home but I didn't fish cause I had no depth map and it was COLD>>>>

thats sweet i went out to big lake this morning at about 6:00am started fishing at 630am i caught 2 burbot both about 19 inches in my first hour of fishing, but awesome job on the 32 inch burbot

Yea after the 4 times of getting skunked there I said I would never go again, but I was bored and gave it one more chance.  I'm going out there again Monday night if you or anyone wants to join let me know.

One of my buddies is going with me also, so you can bring your ice house/auger also so we can hace 2 spots going at the sametime. We will be getting there about 6pm, we will start at burnt point for a couple of hours then go from there.  We will be in a blue 95 gmc sonoma with a big green Eskimo Quickfish 6 if you want to meet us. last night was awesome!  RIPPER and I went to Big Lake about 8:00 last night and stayed till about 1:00. We were fishing in about 35' of water and ended up catching two burbot, one was about 26" and the other was 32". A great night, clear skys, lots of stars, NOBODY ON THE LAKE!!  that was the best part.  Good times!
