I am 26 years old and went for a pre-employment physical.  I have been a fire fighter/emt for the past 6 years.  My cuurent job required this physical and part of the physical was an x-ray of my spine. Results came back the other day. Turns out my lower spine is compressed!  I can't believe I already have a bum back! Let me tell ya, it changed the way I do things already.

Ooooh! Another Packers fan! Did I say I have an autographed pic of Bret that his brother Scott got for me from him when we were speck-fishing together down in Mississippi? Oh yeah, on the wall of my dungeon right next to Drew Brees, and did you see where he broke Marino's record yesterday? oh yeah!  :roflmao: :roflmao:   :woot:

Yeah I heard that. Last names Boyles isnt it. If your impling that hes a little different, Ive have heard that from a bunch of folks.  The gal Jen that on the combat team with me is dating the brother of one of the firefighters up there. His name is eluding me at the moment though. Hope ya get back on your feet soon.

Got some good news today..The orthopedic doc tells me no surgury. He also says I'm getting to fat and need to work on my core to keep my back strong. I say what do you mean...I've been pounding the 12 ozrs hard..you mean that isnt good for my core? The guy didn't have much of a sense of humor.

guess I'll have to hit the cardio hard this winter. That means walking from pole to pole to pole to BEER to pole .............. :thumbsup:I'll be fixed up in no time :flex:

humor?!?! here's one for you...

went in for a colonoscopy (rectal cancer runs rampant in my family) and was pretty nervous this being the first one and all... so when i was in the operating room there was an older anethesist, the doc (maybe thirtysomething, nice guy and we got along great!), an older nurse and a younger nurse... as i was being prepped and almost about to be put under, i  asked more as an anxiety defense... "how much extra is it for the happy ending?"   :woot:

the old nurse wasn't pleased to say the least... the young nursed just laughed amd smiled at me... the doc didn't know what to do... and the anethesist, he looked at me like, "did he just say what i thought he said??"... needless to say i was OUT COLD right after that crack.  ;D

one polyp removed later, i wakes up in the recovery room just like i had a nice soothing 45 minute nap... moral of the story... go get'r done. nuthin' to it... but leave the happy endings out of it!

rodrunner,
Good news no surgery! I think we all can work on the core. I always like getting that kind of advice from my Doctor, especially when he is as big around as he is tall.

Gamb00ler,
I am overdue! thanks for the words of encouragement, still not looking forward to it.
