Went to 17 mile lake out in the vally the ice was about 9 inches and the wather was windy. I caght two char about 17 then I was changing the bait on one rod when I hear a splash. I turned to see the ends of my rod holder sticking out of the hole. I ran over and luckley the poll was stuck in the holder about three inches under the water I grabed it and line was zipping off the real as quick as it could go. Just then the fish turned and hooked the lines of my other rod and my daughters pull which was about 20 feet away. I opened the drags on the other rods and gave the pull to my daughter so she could have fun. one hook through the hole and I untangeld it. Ihen I saw the fish and lost my breath it was huge then came the next hook it was all the way to the rod and it had to be removed but the fish was half way through the hole. I tried to put my hand around it but it slipped free and the hook came out there went the one that got away. Ihe fish was as big around as the hole I would guss around 25 inches or bigger. I've caught fish in there around 22 but this looked much biger. Now Im going to have to go back till I catch it.
