Kamik Ice breaker snow boots are good. They only cost 50$ online @www. muckbootsonline.com Ive used them for years.
Waterproof & Lightweight TPR Upper
Waterproof Adjustable Nylon Collar
Removable 8mm Zylex® Liner
TRACKER TPR Outsole Maximizes Traction
Height: 14.5 Inches
Comfort rating: -40 F
Lightweight - approximately 3 lbs. per boot
TPR = Thermoplastic Rubber, a synthetic rubber

This year i bought a new pair of Ranger Field sport pac boots, double insulated removable replaceably liners, 100% waterproof, and rated for -80. Good thing about these two pairs of boots i mentioned is they have a drawstring on the very top of the boots to keep out snow and water. These boots i only wear i pair of socks get very hot..only 60$ at ren's

I would look at Will Steger Mukluks.  These are pretty unreal..  At times too warm really.

He created these for his expeditions crossing the North and South poles by dog sled.  The guy is legendary in MN.

I worked ski resorts in Colorado and wore these 8 hours a day..  Co-workers got nice boots but would have problems on bad days..  My only problem was swetty feet.

PS - buy these a bit big...  Perhaps in a wide..  then get some poly socks and fat wool socks.

these are some beasts:

the guy crossed the North Pole with these on his feet

Take note of the

Recommendations: We recommend that you purchase an extra pair of 9mm woolfelt liners and an extra pair of 9mm woolfelt insoles. Rotate your liners and insoles as needed. This is the optimum system Steger recommends for all expeditions, hunting trips, ice fishing trips etc. Socks: We recommend a pair of medium to heavy weight socks.

Same here for the last 25 years or so.  Only gone through 3 pair in that time.  Very nice boot for when you pull the auger back up through! ;D

This thread has been very helpful. Thankyou to all who make it happen. Heck, the info I got on this one thread is worth the price of another year of Militia subscription. (That would be a plug for IS)
I've done a bunch of web surfing and looking at the various recommendations. Based on the characteristics that I need in a boot, I've ruled out the Mucks, (I need more traction) The Lacrosse Ice kings were a tad heavy, The Cabelas Trans Alaskans looked great until I looked at the 34 customer ratings for the boot. A lot of people rated the boot 5 out of 5 stars, but mentioned that the boot was NOT good for walking any distance. I can see that, since the boot has 3" of insulation between your foot and the ice. But if your going to be standing on the runners of a dogsled, that's the boot!! It looks like I'll be going with the Baffins, eh?
And if someone wants to suggest that we're just a bunch of promoters...well...the y can kiss my mule!
   Thank you all,
Tight lines and flags

Didnt read all the posts, but as a last minute buzzer beater ill suggest the LaCrosse PFT Extremes. Great boot IMO and not to heavy for a pack style boot. Have a 1.5" thick sole to give you seperation from the ice/frozen ground, are insulated and have a "felt style" liner in them. The liner is split down the front somewhat and has a large velcro flap on it that allows you to custom fit the liner to your ankle size. That way it isnt too tight or too loose, its just right.

I was going to post a link, but it appears as if they may have discontinued them as i cant find them on their web page. :( Finally, something i like and theyre doing away with it. >:( >:( >:(

Good luck with your purchase.
