I know its a little early but I would like to have a shindig this year.   I know that east and west river are far apart, but we should have a little meeting sometime.  I am open to any suggestions for location of a gathering.   Im sure it will have to be in central SD.   Myself I would like to fish the river provided there is enough ice.  Give me your ideas and i will try to get something going.

I know it seems fairest to have it in central SD.  Im not sure about logistics.  I am pretty certain atleas 80 percent of the guys on here from SD are east river.  If you have it in Pierre or someplace liek that I am thinking your turn out will be about half of what it would be if it was at Thompson or something near Brookings or watertown.  I know that sucks for the west river guys, but I am sure the turn out would be much larger.  Just sharing my opinion.  Maybe we should try to schedule something on Thompson and maybe another outing on one of the trout fisheries in the hills.  I would go to both.  Just fishing for something I dont normally target would be a nice change of pace.  Just an idea.

The problem with the Pierre area during ice fishing is that the legislature is in session and all the motels are full. That is probably the best place in the center of the state other than Mobridge.

There is always Lake Mitchell ;D ;D ;D,Only problem is its a RAR occasion that you will catch fish all day there. Its usually a morning and evening bite. Of course this leaves the afternoon for trips to Cabelas and a good ole grill party!!!!
