Duck Hunting
« on: Sep 03, 2007, 08:45 PM »
So who's hitting up the waterways this fall to bag some waterfowl?  Here's the only thing I've shot this year.  Dont think the boat yard she was in would have appreciated a cloud of steel rippin through the air!

I wish the portable shanty builders would make some in camo so we could get another season of use. I have a couple of spots the flip over would be perfect for.

That is a sweet picture there. I like it alot. I'll be entering my fourth year of waterfowl hunting and will participate even more than I did last year. Early goose in Michigan opened on Saturday the first, but it doesn't quite feel like hunting yet when it is 90 degrees outside. I honestly can't wait for the early season. So many oppurtunities. We have so much more water this year than we did last year too. Wood ducks, here I come!

Early Goose in Michigan was met with bluebird skies and 85 degree temps. Managed to go 3 for 3 on Laborday, and Flockshot went 2 for 4.
All local resident Geese for now. The limit is 3 during early hunts, but hope and hear that it will be bumped up to 5 next year. Expecting rain and storms for the weekend, so the hnting should just get better!

I ventured out once over the weekend. I don't have much light camo so after sweating my a** off for a few hours, I gave up. I wish I would be able to get out over the weekend, I have a buddy who's got a few hot fields lined up, just walk in, lay down and wait but I am heading up north to prepare for the upcoming shotgun opener. >:(

I went out yesterday for some goose hunting. In the morning i just set up some decoys and waited it out. i managed to get a flock in and got one of them. Then i decided to do a float trip(im on a river) did a three house float trip and nothing at all untill i was withing 300 yards or my camp and a flock was sitting there. i managed to get three of them. All in all it was a great day

you guysa have geese already? I'm up here in southren Manitoba and I've only seen afew geese so far, not worth trying, but I've been keeping my eyes to the sky and the fields. hopefully soon, I've never shot a goose yet but would really like to start waterfowl hunting

Quack, Qauck! I hear that! The Southern Zone in Michigan opens up on Oct. 6. Have been waiting for this day since the last day I was duck hunting!
