Got a new Jiffy Stealth 3hp 9 inch auger and I had a heck of a time starting it right from the box. I live at 6000ft and it was about 50 degrees in my garage. Anyways I followed the directions exactly as the directions say and couldnt get the engine to even turn over. So I took out the spark plug and it looked wet to me. I let the spark plug dry overnite and let the auger sit overnite.
Next morning I pushed the prime buttom just once and set the choke to "no choke" instead of full choke and it started. My guess is that perhaps the jiffy instructions causes you to go too rich on the engine and to maybe back off the priming and choke to get it started. Better to start lean and go rich right?
Just my observations
