I guess were going there looking for something or was there just not alot to see? How much did it cost to get in? Alot of these sport shows are looking to sell a boat or Quad or a travel trailor. Not so much to the outdoor guy wanting to buy a few hooks. One way to send a message is that someone would have running the show . Find out who the right person was and express your views politely. If no change comes from it dont support the show and recommend to your freinds not to go. People are money no people no money!

i agree that the show sucked....the one booth that is always in the first isle that had all the random fishing stuff was not there this year and that was disappointing.. all of the hunting stuff was crap as well

Who else can afford to have a booth besides the Out of  State OUTFITTERS. They need a Pennsylvania section for us locals and at a reduced rate I think. I'm not talking Bass Pro and other BIG names, Just the local shops to get together I think. We got fishing, hunting craft people but they are at smaller shows.

I stopped going because it starting looking like a big flea market.  If you are looking to book a hunting or fishing trip this is the place to go otherwise I will not be back until they change their philosophy.

I had been going to the show for the past ten plus years.  Our group stayed over night and would go two days to the show.  But it has gone down hill over the past few years.  I have not gone for the past two.  There is hardly any fishing equipment booths. And as for the ones that are there the prices are the same or more than Cabelas or any other national retail store.  Very disappointing.  If our outfitter for our fishing trip was not there i would have stopped before hand.

If your looking for ice fishing stuff go to BPS or Cabelas or other ice fishing websites.  To me the sportsshow was awesome.  They have alot of custom turkey call stuff which is hard to get to try hands on and buy anywhere else.  There were also alot of neat people to meet and chat with.  Here's an attached pic with some lucky guy in the middle

my wife and i went to the show and i was dissapointed .
it was so crowded and the content wasnt very good . it was like the same old only more of it . over the past few years ive been very dissapointed in archery season and was thinking that id see something there that would put the spark back into it for me .but that didnt happen. there was a target shooter with a target bow shooting balloons at 20 yards the size of 2 fists ( yawn ) all i can say is that i wont be back

this is only my opinion but it seems to hold true with most guys........i hunt with traditional equipment because im tired of the high tech war that goes on every year to leap frog each other for your dollar.....i have never felt as much a hunter until i went at it with a stick and string....ive shot with the best in the world and won the Ibo worlds in mbr trophy class in 2004....im sick of it.....but as for the show it had nothing for traditonal hunters or ice fishing my 2 favorites....it had it good points if you can afford to book a 3000$ hunt or want to buy a four wheeler????ive had morte enjoyable times in here with my ice fishing family....it just went to show were a different breed and i see us as a brotherhood in here ......i pray for you all to have many days on the ice and many flags to go up......
on the 8th day he created icefishing and on the 9th day he created vexilar........

I have been working at or going to the Eastern Outdoor show for 25 plus years and yes I aggree that it is not a local fishing show. The booth space cost $1200.00 which is extreamly hard to recover plus the time spent at the show can be better spent at other venues.Try some of the more lo key shows that the Firemen ,and other outdoor groups put on. There are 5 or 6 comming up in the next month or so,and most cost a few bucks or are free. There are bargins to be had if you take the time to look and tons of local information for the asking.  I do some of the shows and hope to see some of you there.  Tony

Thanks Tim, Lee and Tiff are awesome.  I have to agree with addicted angler on this one.  You would have to sell alot of tear drops and augers to atleast break even at the show.  Go to the smaller shows like he said and you find more of what your looking for.  If you want to meet awesome people like in the pic above go to the big show.  BBD
