Release on HT Ice Rigger

Hi All, does anyone use the ht ice rigger? I have 2 and in the house they work fine, I get a nice easy release from the clip. I get them outside and they get a little sticky has anyone else had this problem. I have the reels spooled with mono and have tried line conditioner think maybe the line is getting stiff in the cold.

I use them as well. Put a small piece of plastic like off a zip lock up the release and play with how for from the line, should help the release

Thanks, sometimes the simple fixes are the best. Used a piece of 20# to spread the tube out a little. This shoul;d work real good.
