Not quite Manitoba
« on: Feb 14, 2007, 05:28 PM »
I know this is a manitoba blog, but I was just wondering since we're so close to kenora and all, do the same summer spots on the woods produce through the ice?

Welcome TL. It does not matter that this is a Manitoba Froum. Your more then welcome. Now do the same spots produce. My opinion would be at first ice yes but the fish do gradually move throughout the winter months. You have nothing to lose however by just trying. Good luck to you bud.
Enjoy life now!!!! Get on the Hardwater before it melts away!!!

welcome to MB...alot of us venture down to LOTW moreso during the softwater season....no reason that summer hotspots change with the hardwater...unless you are chasing species that fluctuate habitats with temps....ie...Lakers.. ..Grump

Welcome TL! ;D
I agree with BW and G.
Usual hot spots are good both summer and winter, you should also keep in mind that in summer you are moving around alot with a boat so you should use the same strategy in the winter! ;)

all i know about LOTW is that there are good eatin' walleye there!  ;D  a friend of mine in minnesota sent me some filets cross-country.  it kind of ruined me for eating trout....
