I've heard good things about Dewart.  All open water fishing though.  I have not heard anything about ice fishing.

Alan, I live on the north side of Tippy and fish Dewart frequently.  I fish a lot on the south-east corner in front of the bay.  Unless you know someone that lives in that area it is a long walk from the landing  :'(.  I have not been over to check on ice but am planning on looking at it this evening.  I will try and let you know.

dewart is a good lake for gills craps perch,  but it is a long walk to get out there when it freezes.   just skim ice at the moment

Alan,As  a back up plan you might want to keep an eye on the slip.(wawasee) Pretty  hot at firat ice, heard it has a solid 2.5 should be good by sat. It's kinda in the neighborhood, as long as the wind isn't to crazy

I have not looked at it since Wed. evening, hopefully it tightened up a little since then.  I won't be able to get out for a little while, heading south.  Hate to miss the first good ice, but then again those snook and redfish are calling my name.

Be Safe
