Ice fishing in the Fargo or Grand Forks area?
« on: Dec 02, 2005, 11:47 PM »
Just looking for some places to fish in the fargo or grand forks region. Im going to school in fargo and need to find someplace to fish while im away from home.

If anyone from that area could fill me in with the hot spots, I would much appreciate it!

Don't try to ice fish the Red. You've got Brewer, Casselton (nice Crappies), Silver, LaBelle, Boyer, Lee, Upper Cormorant ... within an hour if you need a fix, and you're 2 hours 45 minutes from the best ice hole on the planet.

Which school are you going to?

Probably at the Cow College (us from UND only call it that because it was founded by a cow).

If you're ever in the VC area, shoot me a PM, I've got some spots I can show you.  Ashtabula, Pipestem, Spiritwood, Jamestown, etc.

Going to try Brewer on 12/23.
Born to fish, forced to go to work and think about fishing and talk about fishing with coworkers.

I teach over at the Buffalo Barn now and then. Brewer and Little Cormorant and the rest are over by Lake Park -- maybe 40 minutes East on highway 10. I hooked a couple nice Bass and some little stuff on Little Cormorant last weekend, but didn't have much luck with the Walleyes. The best ice hole on the planet is Devils Lake, and from the T lot you can be there and on the ice fishing in 2 hours 45 minutes. I'll be up there exactly three hours after my Friday morning class at MSUM, punching a 10 inch hole in Heaven.
