Cobbosseecontee Lake
« on: Dec 31, 2021, 11:40 PM »
My friends and I take an annual ice fishing trip every year.. last few years we have been going to lake Champlain. This year we rented a house on the north end of the lake, just looking to see how the ice fishing has been in recent years on the lake, we are going after Northern pike mostly, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I live about a stones throw from Cobbossee and have fished it for about 50 years mostly for Bass.  This summer I did not get many Pike as compared to previous years (not sure why).  At least none of my $25 lures got stolen by them…LOL.  Anyhow, as far as ice fishing goes, I would concentrate on the south end of the lake (south of the State Ramp in Monmouth).  This area is mostly 10’ or less in depth.  The Lake is loaded with large Golden Shiners that would be the best bait to use.  I use 20lb flourocarbon 10’ leaders on my ice traps.

Good luck, Scott
