With all that's going on down south, is anyone ice fishing where the never did before? I'm sure people drive north to reach frozen water on a normal year. Somebody must be taking advantage of this!

Friend of mine from Dallas sent me pictures of him ice fishing on a pond behind his house, said there was 5in of ice. He is from Minnesota so he knew what he was doing, guessing his neighbors thought it was crazy. He didnt catch anything but said it was nice to be on hard water again

It wasn't recently, but I lived in NV a few years as a kid in the early 90s after being in MN before that. One of the winters was really cold ('92 or '93) and we ice fished a couple times on 4-5" ice on a small park pond a couple miles from our house. Got looked at like we had 3 eyes... people were slowing down and staring as they drove by :roflmao:
