Eaton Reservoir/Bulls Dam Conditions?

Hi i am looking to be getting ready to get out for ice fishing fairly, has anyone been out to eaton reservoir? if so i honestly don't even car about activity i just wanna know if its safe, i don't have the proper pick and stuff to check ice myself, rather poke and drill a hole and cause more stress on thin ice underneath me ya know?
