The regular transducer works just fine as long as you make sure it hangs horizontal. I've used it for two seasons just attaching pool noodle to the cord and haven't had any problems.

I have a Garmin Striker 4 that I use. If you go to buy an ice transducer you’ll pay anywhere from $80 - $120.
I took one of those styrofoam rod floats about 8” long and used the attached Velcro straps to secure it to the transducer stem. Works pretty good.

If it's a vexilar they have a pretty good turn around time if you send it in. Check their site they usually have refurbished ones to.

Did you check with Hook and Arrow to see if they have any flashers, ducers, or batteries? whichever you may need.

Hook it up to car battery to test it. Replace battery and or charger. Also check cables and connections.

I've had a Garmin striker 4 for about five years now and it works perfectly for both on the ice and my 14' alumacraft.

What I do to get it hanging right for ice fishing is take some fishing line, thread it through the bolt holes on the transducer, and tie it to make a little bar. Make sure the transducer cord is below the line, and then you can adjust as needed. This will cause the cord to angle outward and get the transducer hanging horizontally.

Had same problem, evidently 3 yr old vex brand battery had a bad cell, wouldn't come on with charger hooked up like before. New battery works fine, good luck.
