well good luck! wish I could get out there i have an engineer flying in from new jersey tomorrow to hopefully fix a programming issue on one of our coiling machines that i cant put down during the week.... seems people have a love hate relationship with covid don't want to get it but is keeping people so busy at work. were running 24-6
HERE HERE....NOW I'LL DRINK TOO THAT!!
thanks.. wont be able to test tomorrow.. woke up to no heat on the second floor and temp at 60... figured it was a zone valve( which I keep in stock) but not so lucky, circulator pump is fried, and whoever plumbed it in didn't put isolation valves, which means draining the system... none of the local big box stores had one, I expedited one from McMaster for tomorrow.. my Wife is hitting the plumbing supply stores at this time trying to get her her hands on one, no one stocks anything these days, if she gets one, I'll change it tonight, if not, it'' be cold up stairs until tomorrow, either way, IF I get out, it'll be local for pan fish.
...there are a core group of people in this country ( most of them seem to hang out here) that are going to responsible for righting the ship while a slew of them pat themselves on the back and tell the world what a great job THEY did.. I tip my hat top the ladies and gent's that keep this great county moving rolling despite those that would tear it down...
AMEN to that!!!! Well said. We just keep keepin on....somebody's gotta do it
Looks like a half day tomorrow, I got home and surveyed, the rusted bolts, corroded fittings and leaking T&P valve and decided to start this morning, good thing I did.Changing the pump was a walk in the park, my first clue of trouble on the horizon was the lack of water in the system, second clue was all the black sediment flushed out if the system.. not in the mood to screw around, I headed to Webb and bought an auto fill, T&P valve and a new back flow preventer also changed the T stat for an old fashioned Honywell dial stat to fit my simple(ancient)system.the auto flow was choked solid with crap and not functioning , the back flow preventer was dripping..I had to make a new manifold for the auto fill, and of coarse, I had lent my propress to a friend, so I had to break out the torch and go old school..the house was down to 56 when I fired up the boiler, after a prolonged bleeding session and a few drip repairs, I'm on my second beer it was a 6 hour battle..now the entire house is a balmy 70.. at least I wont freeze my bag off when I get out of the shower.. I'm going fishing in the morning!
Glad you got it fixed in the end. I'm sure your wife was glad too.
Nice work joe. Go get em tomorrow. You deserve it.
Dont care if I dont catch a thing. I'm going to breath some mountain air and relax for a few hours.
Exactly!!!! The fish are a bonus. It's cool. My 11 year old is even understanding it now, where he says, "i don't care if we don't catch anything, I just love being out here. So relaxing and Better than sitting at home" Damn right. We all work our a$$es off. Fishing is our recharge.
It's a great way to teach them, that way they appreciate the days when it's stupid fishing vrs. Days when its stupid to fish!
Well put! And yes. Today was one of those days it was stupid to fish....lolBut we do it anyway. Passion is a hard thing to ignore or shut off.
