Welcome to the shanty. I too am from CT. I recommend reading into the ice fishing section of our rules and regulations book. One rule to follow here in CT is we are allowed 6 lines in the water. A tip would be to thread a button onto your tip-up line before tying on the leader/hook. You can mark your line with the button for a quick and easy way to reset your tip-up to your desired depth. Lastly, the ice situation in CT is always a hit or miss. We normally get ice later and lose it earlier than our northern neighbors so you致e gotta make the most out of the season when it痴 available. Your best bet currently for ice would be heading up to the NW hills in Litchfield county. I know people have been out on Winchester lake. Not sure on your location but if you live in central CT I would recommend going to see Tom at TAGs tackle box in plainville. He can set you up with everything you値l need to start out. Tell him Martin sent you in. Lastly, get some ice cleats and safety spikes.
Use this ice safety chart as a reference. Good luck!
