Sportsmans Warehouse

The other Sportsmans Warehouses around the country have just as many empty pegs as the Montana stores? Realistic estimate that 50% of the pegs in the fishing department are empty. And a new first, Cabelas had the same prices as SW.......and no empty pegs.

Sportsmans Warehouse here in Spokane has been the same since COVID started. It's crazy, the store is almost empty. I asked an employee why, he indicated something with their distributors. Not a good scene....

The Sportsmans Warehouse stores here in the MSP area are closed.  They closed their doors here about 8 yrs ago.

I worked at a local Sportsmans Warehouse and it was a joke.

They never replenish the most sold items, the warehouse was never organized, I'm surprised they are still open in my area.

I have a few friends that work at one and know they are getting stock although not alot and it is selling very quickly. Over the summer they would say about getting grills or kayaks or camp chairs and then they would sell 10 or 15 of those units in a few hours. Also I just saw that SW bought a couple more of the Field and Streams that are local to me. Seems like they are taking any profit they have and trying to expand their presence, not sure how that will work out for them though. The F&S was always well stocked and organized and as you said the SWs are usually pretty empty and kinda blah... It makes me not want to even stop there.

Same here in Colorado. You got to remember China is closed to the US and no shipments coming in. Even clothing and other items are the same way. Just drop into your local Walmart and see a lot of empty shelves. Cabelas and other sporting goods are the same way out here.

Tough crowd, name your favorite brick and Morter store and it’s all the same. Quit supporting them and you will have no where to go when the world comes back to normal And then a week waiting for shipping will be the new normal. Shop local when you can!

It's crazy, I've been to three here in Idaho and two of them looked like they were going out of business, but one had a bit more in stock and a few things I ordered didn't have any problems getting.

here's part of the problem..... due to the pandemic, everyone who wasn't working either took up gardening or fishing. gardening and fishing gear disappeared in a blink of an eye. With Covid cases spreading, factory workers, warehouse workers, transportation workers were affected and they had to quarantine. China stopped shipping to the US. Check to see how much of our stuff is made in China. No one is fully up and running. What is in the stores, prices have increased a lot (simple supply and demand economics)

I agree, this shouldn't surprise anyone.  As to MFish's earlier point about Cabela's, I can only assume they can handle more overhead than a store like SW and might be able to keep the shelves stocked longer?  Regardless, it sounds like a perfect opportunity for local manufactures to step in...I can think of several rod makers, lure/jig producers, and bait guys in the Flathead Valley area that could stand to benefit from the absence of Chinese competition!
