Umbagog
« on: Feb 19, 2020, 05:48 PM »
Hey guys, My aunt has a home on Cedar pond in milan. Was looking to fish for walleye, togue, or pike. I fish cedar every year and I want to mix things up. I'm not looking for any secrets but is there anybodies of water around that area with those fish? Does Umbagog have a healthy population of pike or togue? I will be taking my boat with me in the summer. I have zero experience open water fishing pike or togue. Was thinking about vertical jigging togue sense I dont have downriggers. Not really sure how to fish for togue or pike open water or what depth to even find them at. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

No luck for those in umbagog ..tough place to navigate in the boat so be careful ..south pond has Lakers but all stunted but they are in there ..you could possibly go to big island pond in Vermont for walleye and the Connecticut River for pike...good luck
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

Finding a pike in Umbagog is like finding a needle in a haystack.  It's over populated with stunted smallies , and some up to 3.5 lbs.   We've never targeted Lakers, or any trout,  but have caught salmon by accident.  We fish the northern area near the Rapid River.

Completely agree with p.dona!  That's been my experience as well.
